New Year's Resolution #1 -
Take time for me
(Algomask Facial
Review)
Nina's European Day Spa
New
Year,s Resolution #1: Take better care of myself by taking time for me.
Armed with this New Year,s Resolution I made my appointment at Nina’s
European Day Spa. Located on busy
35th Street
, just a couple of blocks away from the hub of
Herald Square, I found a little oasis.
First,
I was escorted into Nina’s meditation room to shake off the
stress of my day. It was there that I was instructed to choose my facial.
There were so many to choose from. They all seemed so luxurious, full of
pamper potential, and frankly I wanted them all. My facialist Irina
took me into the room to begin my facial and helped me sort out my
choices. To start the New Year off right, I wanted something more than the
basic facial. Being 27 years old with relatively good skin I wanted to
make sure that I wasn’t choosing a service that was not appropriate for
my age and skin type. Irina agreed and we finally got it narrowed
down to the Algomask facial and the Vitamin C anti-oxidant
facial. I chose the Algomask facial which is a redness-diffusing
seaweed mask most famous for it’s calming effects for all skin types,
including rosacea. It contributes to minimizing the appearance of enlarged
pores and promotes elasticity. Two words I like to hear; calming and
elastic. They sound like qualities I could incorporate to my second New
Years Resolution: Quit stressing so much and become more flexible. Hey,
this facial could help both my resolutions!
Irina
explained that at my age the most important thing to look for in facials,
as well as in products for the face, is something to boost collagen and
something to promote new cell growth.
The G.M. Collin products used in this facial did just that.
The G.M. Collin line is one of the top lines in the country and its
products contain the most current scientific findings in skin care.
And I have to agree that even in their packaging they explained some of
the factors that I was looking for, the collagen building and skin
renewal, without having to know all of the fancy scientific names for
things. G.M. Collin has figured out how to express this all to the
customer in layman’s terms even though the technology is complicated. I
like that, it makes me feel smart.
The
facial was so relaxing and wonderful. Irina’s nimble and strong
hands relaxed my facial and neck muscles, while allowing my mask to finish
it’s work. I felt my stress melt away. The seaweed nourished my face
just as I was choosing to nourish myself by taking this time to do
something for me. My face was glowing, as were my spirits after leaving Nina’s.
I strongly recommend that no matter what your New Year’s resolution is,
you should add to them taking time to pamper yourself. It is the New Years
resolution that every woman, actually every person, should add to their
list, and Nina’s is a great way to start.
