Metamorphosis Day Spa
Did
the groundhog see his shadow? How much more winter will we have? A girl
cannot keep up. All I know is that here in NYC the weather has been going
from hot and balmy to major snow. Not only has this made my moods crazy,
but it has made my skin crazy. Can you say red, splotchy and Dry, DRY,
DRY! Not to mention that shadows under my eyes that would drive that
groundhog back into his cave. But never fear Metamorphosis is here.
Metamorphosis
Day Spa is one of those rare spas's that is the perfect mix of Zen
relaxation and tough love for the skin. The staff at Metamorphosis
are gentle and relaxing. They put you in your body and out of your head
from the first moment that you enter 127 E. 56th Street. This is a
spa of simple elegance, a spa that is neither trendy nor stoic, but
balanced, like the goal of my skin and my psyche. Please Metamorphosis
take away these winter doldrums.
After
relaxing with some tea and water my aesthetician led me to my room and
began her work. Just as I had expected my face was crying out for some TLC
and some balance. The remedy: a European facial with extra moisture in
addition to a skin peeling cream (made from fruit acid, for sensitive
skin) and an Algae mask (great for getting the red of from extractions and
even better for sensitive, parched skin like mine). All of the products
that my aesthetician used on me are from this great new product line that Metamorphosis
designed called Emerge. And emerge I did a new woman. The entire
line is described so well on the packaging, a rare thing. Even a layman
can diagnosis and decide what is the best combo for them. But with the
help of the staff at Metamorphosis a skin care regime was created
just for me from their line. This custom facial was soothing and
unpretentious the perfect blend of pampering and good old fashioned
cleaning. The most impressive thing about the entire experience here at Metamorphosis
was their attention to detail. They take into consideration every possible
way to make the experience relaxing and special. Lightly scented lavender
water for the steaming, pleasantly scented lotions and crèmes without
being too perfumed and hand warmers to warm and relax you into a Zen like
state. If only the groundhog had this much special attention he would have
stayed out of his cave, or should I say have Emerged from his cave and
stayed out.
