The Loving Hands of Lia Schorr
Luxury Package Review
Lia Schorr Day Spa

6 hands, 3 hours, 1 very happy client. And until the end of December this could be you. Lia Schorr is offering an amazing Luxury Package as part of her 25th anniversary celebration. It's HER anniversary, but YOU get the gift! Let the expertise of 30 years in the skincare business be yours for half price while this special package is available at Lia Schorr Day Spa. The package includes a hot stone massage, a facial, and a manicure, so you (and your wallet) will definitely feel like you have been well taken care of.

Lia Schorr knows skin. The Israeli-born specialist began her work in the field in the men’s skincare industry. She has written 3 books, developed her own line of skincare products, and even has a school upstairs. You might think someone like this would be hard to meet, working out of sight in some secret back office. But despite her level of expertise, Lia answered my phone call when I set up my appointment, and is right there when you arrive, greeting clients and welcoming them into her oasis.

Right away I noticed that the masseuses and aestheticians at Lia Schorr are much like their employer: they are experts in their field and are able to explain exactly what they are doing, why they are doing it, and how you can continue the positive effects on your own. This should not come as a surprise, since some of Lia’s employees have been with her for 20 years. Now I knew I was in the hands of professionals.

My treatment began with a massage, and while rubbing oil into my muscles, my masseuse noticed that I had a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders. Not surprising, considering that I am currently hunching over my computer as I type this. She demonstrated some very simple stretches to help me eliminate this problem, and avoid getting hunchbacked in the future. Okay, hang on…just doing some stretches. (Oooooh, ahhh, hey, that is much better!) My masseuse then moved onto the hot stone portion of the massage. First the stones were lined up on my spine where I felt their warm satisfying weight, before they were used to massage my arms, back, and legs. Pure heaven.

Next I was led to the facial room, where I got to lay back in a wonderfully comfortable reclining chair, while my facialist explained the process to me. Every facial is customized for the client, so after steaming my face and neck she would perform the extraction and my skin type would be assessed. After squeezing out all those nasty blackheads during the extraction (Who knew I had so many? Hopefully only her!) it was determined that I have sensitive skin and that the seaweed mask would be best for me. I also learned that if you do not have a deep-cleaning facial every once in a while, all those fancy lotions and creams on the market don’t really live up to their potential. They merely sit on the surface of the skin, so regular facials are a valuable investment in order to make your moisturizing regimen worthwhile. I listened to relaxing music in a dim room while the mask was on, and may have even dozed off a bit. After it was removed and I looked in the mirror, I was shocked. I always thought I did a good job cleaning my face, but this was REALLY CLEAN. I was literally glowing, and my face was not at all red.

For my last treat, I received a manicure. I found this to be the perfect cosmetic accompaniment to my therapeutic massage and facial. I rarely get manicures because I am always breaking nails, so this was a special treat. My aesthetician fixed my one broken nail (told you) before giving me a lovely hand massage, expertly pushing back cuticles, then filing and painting my nails. I was happy I had something else to show off in case no one noticed how relaxed I seemed, or how clean and glowing my face was.

When I met Lia Schorr, she told me she has “a passion for skincare,” and it shows. If you treat yourself to one special thing this fall, let it be The Lia Schorr Day Spa Luxury Package. You will be in good hands.
