I’m the kind of gal that likes to multi-task; eating my breakfast on the subway whilst writing checks to pay my bills, writing this review while eating lunch AND watching the E! True Hollywood Story of Drew Barrymore. You get the gist. I rarely allow myself to do just one thing. Why do just one thing when you can do 7, right? Even at the spa it’s difficult for me to completely unplug. I get antsy devoting so much time to breathing and getting pampered. I know I deserve it but it seems that I have the attention span of a 5 year old.  Enter Juvenex Spa. I did!  

Juvenex is known for it’s groundbreaking innovations in the New York City spa world. Its history is filled with firsts; first 24-hour spa, first authentic Jade Igloo sauna, and now first spa offering 3D technology while receiving it’s already well-known body treatment wraps. Juvenex director Michael Modiri has worked with a technology company to provide glasses that fit on your head comfortably that play short 3D movies that you watch while you lay wrapped up during your treatment. Now I don't have to fight to distract my mind from going through my "things-to-do" list when I am supposed to be relaxing. Now my mind is engaged and distracted. The movie choices vary from action adventure to tranquil nature scenes. The 35 minutes fly by as you are whisked away to another land.

My treatment was the rejuvenating, detoxifying seaweed body wrap. I was bestowed the honor of being the first to receive the treatment with the 3D glasses. I was wrapped up like a little blond sushi and if you haven’t had this treatment before you don’t know what you are missing. Even more luxurious are the other amenities that you can indulge in that are included with any treatment. There are both wet and dry steam rooms and three deep pools, all featuring different temperatures and each has it’s own special treat. I dipped in the lemon bath as well as the jasmine infused bath. Plus there are showers with all the necessities right there for you. They even have toothbrushes and razors. They’ve thought of everything.  

For me, gal on the go, this is the perfect blend of pampering and entertainment. I can be a geek while exfoliating!  Now if they only made portable 3D glasses for shopping and visiting and my parents I would have it made.

[Men's note: I know the benefits of body wraps, but I was never a big fan. I found body wraps, well, boring. But I was thrilled with my seaweed wrap at Juvenex. It was nourishing. It was rejuvenating. It was action packed. It was filled with adventure. It was in 3D! I watch the TV when I run at the gym, why not at the spa. This new technology is also great for couples treatments. The two of you can actually watch two separate 3D films if your tastes differ and ladies you don’t have to hear it from your guy on how boring “spa stuff” is when he can chose his own flick. Get this; Michael is working to develop a 3D dome so that you eventually don’t even have to wear the glasses. Everyone loves a big screen experience. -Christopher Winfield]
