immense pleasure of meeting the owner and operators of the Endermologie
Cellulite Center in downtown Manhattan.
And I do mean immense pleasure.
Not only was I heading in to receive a cellulite reduction treatment with
what is arguably the best endermologie machine in Manhattan, I was to meet some of
the sweetest people in this city’s beauty business.
Cellulite is a
troubling and embarrassing problem.
So many of us are genetically predisposed to this nasty stuff,
and no amount of dieting and working out can eradicate the issue
entirely. This is where
endermologie comes in. It
is a unique and fascinating process, wherein a vacuum-like machine pulls
gently at the skin, massaging layers of epidermis and, yes, icky fat.
This process is utterly painless when performed correctly, and
actually extremely relaxing! But
I knew none of this going in for my appointment.
I anticipated some level of “suffering for beauty” to take
place. I was so very wrong.

I arrived at the center
and met Shira, the owner and one of the skilled operators of the LPG
Cellulite reduction machine. She was so warm and informative that I immediately felt
comfortable. She explained
the science of cellulite, what happens to our skin tissue to create that
orange-peel look. She then
went over exactly how the process would work, and showed me several case
studies with amazing results. We
discussed my specific needs and problem areas.
I was at ease and beyond intrigued…
The aesthetician who
performed my service, Catherine, was as much of a doll as Shira was.
She gave me the sheer body stocking I would wear throughout the
treatment, and ushered me into a comfortable room.
When I was changed and ready, the session began.

The LPG
Cellulite Endermologie machine was
rolled gently over all my skin, focusing particularly on trouble spots,
of course. It was so
relaxing I almost felt like I was getting a massage, and at the same
time it felt unlike anything I had experienced before.
It was like gentle suction, rolling over and kneading my skin.
Although it is almost
always impossible to see results after the first visit, I could feel the
benefits to my circulatory system immediately.
I was so intrigued and impressed with this process that I
immediately began planning for a full course of treatments.
Everyone is different, and every body responds to this treatment
at different paces. I
intend to respond quickly!
