“The Heavenly Treatment” is for spa veterans, newcomers who
are ready to step it up a notch and anyone who needs to take a load
off. I started my Elemur
Day Spa 56 “Heavenly Treatment”
in the exclusive Soft Heat Sauna, working, or should I say, relaxing
up a sweat. I have
always been overwhelmed by the heat of traditional saunas found at
the gym and had a tough time lasting in a stuffy steam room.
I had now idea I was missing so many benefits.
The soft/radiant heat made it easier to breath, while warming
my muscles better than ever. I
was able to stay in comfortably and long enough to start the
detoxification process. The
sauna step is key, as I learned from Natalia, it raises the
metabolism and gets the body working on its inherent self healing
process. |
Next
up the seaweed wrap...Yes, you will feel like a giant piece of human
sushi, delicious and extravagant! If
you have never been wrapped in this miracle elixir before, you are in for
a treat. It looks more like a
green soup than the kelp on the beach, and is thoughtfully applied to your
entire body with soothing light messaging strokes.
After you are sufficiently covered in the detoxifying seaweed, you
are wrapped in a series of thermal blankets.
You have no choice but to relax.
The weight of the warm blankets and the heat generated by the
seaweed’s nutrients absorbing into the skin is literally “heavenly!”
After 20 minutes or so of pure sushi bliss, Natalia will gently
wake you, because if you are anything like me, you have fallen asleep!
She will lead you to the shower. After which you will emerge to
find a cool glass of water, fresh towel, robe and her able hand to guide
you to the massage room.
The
massage portion of the package is customizable, from different aroma
therapies to different massage techniques…Swedish, slightly deep, with a
dash of Reflexology, and soothing aroma therapy oils for relaxation were
my choices of the day and off I was to heaven once again.

As if
this all weren’t enough…the facial is like saving the best for
last. If you are a fan
of facials you have to come and experience the Face X, Skin
Beautifier. It is
the only machine like it in
New York City
and comes to us from the beauty masters of
Italy
. If you are not
experienced in the facial department or are a little tentative, then
this is the place to start. The
machine uses ultra sonic energy and vibration to promote gentile,
non invasive, exfoliation up to 35% of the stratum corneum, with
better and more targeted results than microdermabrasion.
At the very capable hands of Olga, another RN on the
wonderful Elemur Day Spa 56 staff, my face was literally in the
hands of an angel. She
started the facial with a gentile cleansing and toning process, and
then introduced moisture and oxygen deep into the skin cells with
the Skin Beautifier. The
spatula/wand actually generates up to 25, 000 vibrations per second
allowing the healing elements of the treatment process to more
deeply penetrate the skin, revealing new and more radiant skin
beneath the surface. At
the same time the Skin Beautifier encourages healthy skin, by
pushing the membrane to produce new skin cells.
The results are dramatic and immediate.
Instant rejuvenation is visible even after the first session
and continued treatments with the gentle touch of the Skin
Beautifier can combat early signs of aging, sun damage, wrinkles,
acne and discoloration leaving a brighter more supple skin tone that
