Serious
Massage Review
at Day Spa G
As
my week had progressively developed into chaos and unrest all I really
wanted was some good old relaxation.
I walked into Day Spa G and the atmosphere was pleasant but slightly
clinical. This Russian Spa was friendly but business like. Today’s
relaxation was going to be about efficiency and there wouldn’t be any
“getting to know” chat time.
Time
to get to business. My masseuse started with reflexology of the feet.
Reflexology is the technique that the feet are a mirror of the whole body.
Massaging different areas of the foot reflect different parts of the body,
including your organs. My masseuse started with the bottoms of my feet and
worked her way to my toes working pressure points along the front and back
of each toe simultaneously.
Then
it was on to Swedish full body massage. Please note that they recommend
two sessions of Swedish or “light” massage before having Shiatsu or
deep tissue massage. My masseuse explained that it is too much of a shock to the
muscles to jump right in too deep. Swedish or light massage is meant to
relax and help circulation of the entire body. It is not mean to get into
the tight muscles and work out the knots. My massage was thorough and
efficient and I was ready to take on the rest of my week.
Day
Spa G is not as geared for pampering, as much as it is geared for muscle
maintenance. There is no girly fluff or chi-chat here, just some serious
massage. So get into Day Spa G and get down to the business of
relaxing.
