While jewelry is a big choice for gift-giving at this romantic time
of year, maybe this year calls for something else- a different kind of
‘jewel’ perhaps. I’m
speaking of Beauty Jewel Spa & Laser Skincare Center, the fact
that ‘jewel’ is in their name, is no mistake. This spa truly is a gem
and the perfect way to spend time with your Valentine!

146 West 4th Street
by NYU. My husband, Eric, and
I were lucky enough to be able to preview their Couples Jewel Package and what a treat it was! We
received the Couples Jewel Package which includes a side-by-side
couples massage and then individual facials for each.
All of Beauty Jewel's facials are custom designed for each person
dependent on their own skin type and its condition.
This makes sense for all couples, as rarely do 2 people require the
exact same treatments and products.

Jewel Spa is lovely inside and out. It is clean and well appointed
with granite sink stands and counters for the mani/pedi area. The
treatment rooms are well removed from the front (street area) so it sounds
quiet and smells delicious. And
finally, the staff is warm, friendly and of course, knowledgeable.
We started with our massage in the couples room and we were pleased
to see candles already flickering and two cozy looking (extra wide)
massage beds waiting for us. As
we are both huge massage fans, we didn’t waste any time getting started.
While the top layer of the bedding was a disposable layer, it was
one of the softest things I have ever felt.
From the moment I laid down, it was instantly quiet (my husband is
not a talking-during-massage kinda guy) and I began to let go and relax.
Two masseuses entered quietly into the room and went to work.
Both girls were very attentive to where our stress was in our
bodies and therefore spent quite a bit of time on our backs, which we both
appreciated. My husband was
especially pleased with the work she did on his ankles, feet and hands.
I was happy with the pressure that was used and the lovely steam
towels they both used to gently wipe
us down after being massaged. What a great way to end it.
When our
massages were over and the girls left the room, it took a little bit for
either of us to actually get up. But
when we did, we found two soft and cozy robes to wear to our individual
facial rooms. With a quick
kiss and cozy-robe hug goodbye we went our separate ways.
Eric had the Tiger’s Eye Facial for Him and I had the Beauty
Jewel Deep Pore Cleansing Facial, which uses Yonka products.
I have used and been pleased with Yonka products before and this
was no different. My facial
was wonderful! It went beyond
a facial… she worked on my neck and décolleté, and even gave me
another hand massage. Feeling
a little guilty that I was getting all the ‘extra attention’ I was
very excited to find out that Eric had them all as well.
My esthetician was very gentle and while I usually don’t have too
many extractions, I was worried about the pain my husband was going
through, as this was his first facial in a while and I was pretty sure he
was going to have at least a few. To
be honest, the best part of the experience for me was when Eric came out
from his facial. I love
facials, I get them here and there,like girls do.
But, to be able to share something I love with someone I love and
then to have HIM love it too, well, it was great!
He did have some extractions but he said that it was all done very
quickly and gently. He was
honestly glowing and we were both so relaxed- it made for the perfect
start to a day. It also just
happened to be the day before his birthday, so for us, it set the tone for
not just the day but the weekend. Looking
and feeling fabulous, we stepped back into the city streets, with a little
bounce in our step and excited for the day before us.
What better way to start any day, let alone Valentines Day.
