Some Valentines prefer couple’s treatments, others prefer instead to send their loved ones to a day at the spa on their own. Still others might jet off to the spa themselves, before a big night with the honey. Well if you’re one of the two latter, the Rose Garden Package at Beauty and Wellness Day Spa is the treat for you.

Including an aroma spa facial, eye rejuvenation, body exfoliation, aromatherapy massage, manicure, and pedicure, the Rose Garden package is what one might call an all-inclusive spa adventure. One that no one had to twist my arm to undertake.

Located just south of Grand Central Station, Beauty and Wellness Day Spa is a nice escape from the city streets. Low on fluff and high on quality, I found the spa’s services quite impressive. Beginning with a body exfoliation and massage combination, (I chose lavender oil for my rub-down) the 3-hour venture was off to an exquisite start. One of B&W’s many competent massage therapists, gave one amazing massage. And the lavender calmed my mind while the exfoliant scrubbed Lexington Avenue off my skin.

After I was sufficiently smooth and utterly relaxed, my facial began with Karina. With over 25 years experience, Karina is a master of her craft. She spoke candidly with me about the quality of my skin and what we could do to improve it. She scrubbed and polished and masqued and moisturized until I was a glowing vision of facial perfection (well, I may be exaggerating, but I kid you not, this may have been the best facial I’ve ever received.) As she worked away on my face, the manicurist worked away on my fingers and toes. I opened my eyes at the end of my facial to see perfectly polished nails decorating my hands and feet.

By the end of the 3 hours, I felt centered and beautified. Skin aglow, and smiling from ear to ear, I made my way to reception. At check-out, I was presented with a parting gift: a yummy aromatic pillar candle. What a nice way to take some ambiance home. Take it from me, the Rose Garden package is a perfect Valentine’s Day gift for the woman (or man) in your life.
